Penguin Parade is a puzzle game about penguins who copy everything you do. If you press a button then step on a pressure plate, your penguin will press a button then step on a pressure plate. Teach your penguins to solve puzzles, rescue their friends, and play music, and make this year's penguin parade the best one yet.

Features:

  • Penguins which learn how to do everything you do: you can teach a penguin by talking to it, and it'll try to do things in the exact order as you showed them.
  • 14 Puzzles scattered around a large island, with 14 different penguins to save.
  • All progress is saved between play sessions - whatever you do in the hub will be retained after you exit the game, and your penguins will pick up where they left off.
  • Some secret objects are hidden around the island -- What happens if your penguins pick them up?
  • An extremely difficult final challenge

CLARIFICATION: To place items inside of boxes and on pressure plates, use the interact key (E), not the drop key.

This is one of the most interesting, unique, challenging puzzle games I have ever played. I streamed this over a 12 hour stream I had on twitch and me and all of my viewers were insanely invested.

Penguin Parade takes you to a remote island where there are doors scattered around for you to go through and complete puzzles. After completing them you get to save a penguin from the level. The teaching penguin mechanic was the most interesting way to progress a puzzle I have ever seen. Not being able to do things yourself and having to teach an AI to do it for you was so much fun and made a handful of levels very challenging. This wasn't just a ten minute game jam game. This unironically took me 4 hours to fully complete. This was an amazing title. The only complaint I have is I wish there were a few more prompts on core mechanics. There was some times I had to do some experimentation that I felt I shouldn't have had to do. Other than that it was a great experience and must play for all puzzle lovers.

Cute penguins, interesting mechanic and lovely art, sound and music. Some of the puzzles were a bit confusing since while I knew the theory of “press E on the penguin and teach it” it wasn’t always immediately clear how that system worked, but it wasn’t actually that difficult it just took a bit of experimentation to figure it out.

I really enjoyed this and my only complaint is that there wasn’t more to play, haha. I do wonder if having some extrinsic reward tied to the rescue of the penguins would make it more fun, but what’s here is already awesome!

I rate this a solid 8/10.

Penguin parade was a really nice breath of fresh air. This game has a really cool concept, and they don't hold your hand too much. The levels are really fun and challenging - I have a blast with this game and can't wait to see more.
